Not only can you reserve an entire train car for a 45-minute trip to Paradise and back, but our staff will gladly assist in creating a catered menu specifically for your party. And then you can enjoy your food indoors on one of the train cars, or outdoors in a picnic grove.
If you would like, you may also do the train ride, and then come to rent a space for a party in our brand new Lefever Hall to continue your event. Not only can it entertain up to 50 people, but has access to beautiful views of the Amish landscape and is near Cafe 1832 for catering needs.
Strasburg Rail Road is also happy to accommodate any age for a fun day out for a train-themed birthday party. You’ll even find that for children 11 and under, we have Train Birthday Party Packages to choose from to help make the day special while offering affordable prices.

Group Pricing and Special Offers
- Consider coming in groups of ten or more to receive special rates and benefits. These may include:
- 20% off regular ticket prices for Coach and Open Air train rides
- 10% off on-site purchases from our gift shop
Group Ticket Policies
It is very important to be aware of the following information when booking groups in advance:
- Registration must be made at least two weeks in advance
- Up to 500 guests may be accommodated
- Group/Group rate discount(s) do not apply to/are not available for:
- Special events or caboose charters.
- Christmas Trains running from November 18 – December 24.
- Bus parking and group drop-off locations may very from normal spots due to the following tentative 2024 Day Out With Thomas event dates:
- June 15 – 17; 20 – 24, 2024
- September 19 – 23, 2024
